My Vegan Cheese Odessey

We enjoyed a scrumptious charcuterie board featuring VEGAN CHEESE 🧀 🌱for dinner, a hassle-free weeknight meal that invites us to mix and match, get creative, and savor without breaking a sweat.

These are by far some of the best flavors and texture combos of vegan cheese that I’ve had. All from Rebel Cheese, listen this is not sponsored, I wish, this is just my honest opinion. The highlight of the cheeseboard was the cave-aged Brie, was brimming with savory light truffle and mushroom flavor paired with perfect creamy texture, like the real thing! My partner also tried it, he’s not really into the vegan cheeses but really loved this one. It was the first to disappear off the tray! Followed by a close second - smoked cheddar and last the Parm, I expected more it was my least favorite but is still a good pantry staple. Read why below.

  1. 🧀Cave-aged Brie (my all time favorite)

    1️⃣ Flavor : Buttery, brown mushroom, truffle, balanced salt, tangy.

    2️⃣ Texture : Creamy inside with a skin, just as expected of a Brie, spreadable.

    3️⃣Eat it: with a slice of pear 🍐 wrapped in butter leaf lettuce.

    Additional thoughts: Really tasty, but if I had to add something, it could be funkier.

  2. 🧀Smoked cheddar (ive bought this one a few times)

    1️⃣Flavor: Smokey, buttery, nutty, salty, savory, slightly tangy.

    2️⃣Texture: Dry, crumbly to slightly hard, sliceable.

    3️⃣Eat it: by itself! Charcuterie style, shredded on chili or tortilla soup.

    Additional thoughts: Missing a bit of the fatty waxy texture on the tongue

  3. 🧀Parmesan (good staple)

    1️⃣ Texture: dry, sliceable, grainy

    2️⃣ Flavor: salty, nutty, little umami

    3️⃣ Eat it: almost 😅 Holds its own shaved on spaghetti

    Additional thoughts: Could use a lot more funk, aging, and flavor, would love to feel the crunchy umami crystals expected in a Parmesan
